Pastor Pete Scheele

It is good be a part of a church like Shepherd of the Rockies, for the Mission of Shepherd of the Rockies Lutheran Church in the name of Jesus Christ is to be a Shepherding, Orthodox, Teaching and Reaching Church.

We continue to be a Shepherding Church at Shepherd of the Rockies as we show a concern for each of our members and want each of them to feed upon the greenest pastures so that they can grow in the faith and to remain healthy in our hope and love of God.  Shepherding is a full time job, not just for me as the pastor, the shepherd of God’s flock, but for each of the members of God’s flock here at Shepherd of the Rockies as we welcome each other in each activity we get involved with and become concerned about those who have missed out on the opportunities to receive the nourishment for their faith but also the fellowship and fun of the experience of living in God’s love and mercy.

We continue to be an Orthodox Church here as Shepherd of the Rockies for we strive to use God’s Word to be the norm that we are guided by.  We live in a world that wants to do it our way or the way that seems good and reasonable, but here at Shepherd of the Rockies we don’t follow the path that the world is following.  No, we strive to let God’s Word be the guiding principle that leads us on the path of righteousness with Christ.

We continue to be a Teaching Church here as Shepherd of the Rockies as we strive to help all our members and those outside our church to learn more about God and His great love for us shown through His Son, Jesus Christ.  We encourage all the members of Shepherd of the Rockies to get involved in more that just the Sunday Worship service, where you come to learn about God from His Word, but to get involved in Bible Classes, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and daily devotions.  There is no age limit, we all need to let the Holy Spirit teach us more about God and His love for us in many different ways.

We continue to be a Reaching Church here at Shepherd of the Rockies as we look for more ways to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the people along the 285 corridor and out into all the world. The main focus of our reaching out to others is done one on one.  Members of the church reaching out to others to bring them to hear God’s Word and let the Holy Spirit bring them to faith and trust in Him.

I hope that all the members of Shepherd of the Rockies will strive to be active in a Shepherding, Orthodox, Teaching and Reaching Church.
